The Brunswick owned Sea Ray Boats Company is a well-known manufacturer of pleasure boats constructed and marketed throughout the world.
The company was established in a small garage by C.N. Ray in the city of Detroit, MI in 1959. Ray’s company was subsequently purchased by Brunswick Corporation in 1986 for three hundred and fifty million dollars. Concurrently, Brunswick also purchased Bayliner Boats which instantly established Brunswick as the largest producer of pleasure boats in the world.
The Sea Ray arm of the Brunswick Boat Group is currently headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee along with a manufacturing facility. An additional factory is located in Florida. The Sea Ray product line over the years has ranged from 18’ to 68’ encompassing over 40 different models.
